Effect of using songs to teach junior secondary mathematics

Singing songs is part of human everyday lifestyle, they can easily be recalled and thereafter affect other aspects life. The studyexamined the effect application in teaching junior secondary mathematics. level being intermediateand upper basic education where learners are prepared for serious academic rigour post-basic or senior levelin Nigeria require introduction more learner-centred, learner-friendly activity-based methods. Teaching Mathematics with useof will one such study employed pre- test, post-test, quasi experimental design. Using purposive samplingtechnique, hundred twenty (120) students from two public schools were selected sample.Three hypotheses formulated tested. Two instruments, procedural main instrument, used. data collected analyzedusing analysis covariance (ANCOVA). result revealed that there was a significant on academicachievement it recommended teachers should encouraged to adopt composed duringteaching since their use sustains students’ interest retention.
